School Council

The school councillors at Phoenix are elected at the beginning of the school year by a democratic vote by their peers. Our School Council attend meetings once a week, where they put forward their peers' suggestions and form an action plan to make improvements to the school and surrounding community. The councillors feed back to their class on the actions moving forward and the outcome of their suggestions.  They are accustomed to speaking in assemblies about the events they have led and the charities they have supported.

This year, the school council have donated money to support Cats Protection, Porchlight and purchase some equipment for our playground.  To raise money, they actively organised a Christmas film night where the children of our community voted on which movie they would like to watch.  They have organised a bake sale where they used the money raised to purchase cat food and donate it to Cats Protection in person.

Once a term, the School Council collaborates with our Eco Council and part-takes in litter picking around our community area.
